At this point I remain a rank beginner in the world of electronics. All of my experience with electronics has been on the nano-scale in the semiconductor industry, so being able to actually hold an individual transistor is a novelty in of itself. I've been picking up several kits from various sources (see the link bar on the right) and I've had a real blast hunting down components both common and more rare to see what differences in sound I get from them.
Steggo and a Chapman ML-1 |
In this blog I'll bring you along on my tone journey. Those of you familiar with my other blog and hobbies will see that come through in decal and other design for my effects pedals. This won't be as much a "how to" guide as it is - see what I did (and see what idiot mistakes I've made along the way!). As to the blog / studio name, I decided to name it after our household mascot - a green plush stegosaurus!
As I learn, hopefully this blog will progress from a simple assembly blog to something a little more technical, but time will tell!
